Catering Services - School Canteen

Millais has a modern well equipped kitchen designed for the efficient preparation of fresh, healthy and nutritious meals on the school site each day.  The school has worked hard to incorporate the Government’s new food standards for schools as part of our way of encouraging all our pupils to lead healthier lifestyles.

 

Parents who send their children to school with ‘dinner money’ can be assured that they will benefit from the wide range of hot and cold meals provided in the Millais School Canteen.  Main meals change daily on a three week menu cycle.

Please note from September 2009 Millais will be operating a cashless catering system.

 

Pupils can purchase a main meal with vegetables with a choice of dessert for £2.10. Click here to see the full lunch menu prices.

 

Early birds can purchase Breakfast Specials from 8am – 8.15am each morning including hot bacon rolls and fresh fruit.

 

A wide variety of snacks can be purchased from the Main School Hall. An exciting new Panini Bar has been opened in Lower School, selling a range of freshly toasted Paninis at lunch time.  Have you visited our brand new Corner Cafe, our fast-track lunch stop, with a wide selection of home made sandwiches rolls and wraps with prices starting as low as £1?

Salads

 

Salads are freshly boxed main course salads, including Chicken Caesar Salad, Smoked Mackerel, Pasta Salad, and Potato Salad, and boxed side salads, prices range from 70p.

 

 

 

 

Vegetarians

 

We always provide a vegetarian main meal option with favourites like Pizza, Jacket Potatoes, Stir Fries, Pasta King, Curry, stuffed peppers, lentil loaf, and vegetarian cheeseburgers with Salsa. There is something on offer to suit every taste.

Packed Lunches

 

For those girls who choose to bring in their own packed lunch, we would like to ask that there are no chocolate bars, crisps, fizzy drinks brought into school to encourage our ‘Healthy Schools’ programme, and our commitment to our students to provide and encourage a healthy lifestyle. 

 

Fruit

We no longer sell chocolate, crisps, fizzy drinks, or cakes and our vending machines now stock a wide range of healthy drinks including fruit juices and fruit smoothies and bottled water.

 

We continue to be on the lookout for other healthy snacks to add to what is on offer.
