Creative & Expressive Arts

We believe that the Creative and Expressive Arts curriculum area should be a vibrant, exciting and inclusive place to work and study.

We are dedicated to promoting a learning environment through which all can achieve. The raising of individual pupils’ attainment, self esteem and personal expression is at the forefront of the Arts curriculum.

‘Now more than ever, it is vital to encourage all areas of young people’s intellectual and personal capabilities and to recognise that doing this is not at odds with their academic development.  The greatest disincentives to achievement are low self-esteem and lack of motivation.  Creative and cultural programmes are powerful ways of revitalising the sense of community in a school and engaging the whole school with the wider community.’
Professor Ken Robinson  “All our Futures” (1999)
