At Key Stage 4, all students take one full GCSE and have the opportunity to continue with their second language as a full course, or to take one of the following; a short course in Spanish, German, French, or Applied French, a beginners’ course in Spanish, Italian or German, leading to a GCSE or the British Airways Flag award. | ![]() |
We offer students many opportunities to develop their linguistic and social skills through a variety of visits and exchanges with our partner schools in Europe. Within the curriculum there is a wide range of enrichment experiences including workshops in other languages and after school clubs.
The pupils benefit from a wide range of resources with interactive whiteboards in each classroom and regular access to a fully equipped multi-media suite and classroom laptops.
We have foreign assistantes for all languages who work with the students as well as extra classroom support for both gifted and talented pupils and those with special needs.
Pupils are encouraged to participate in local and national language competitions and interact with the wider community through visits to primary schools and Day Centres.
