Ofsted say Millais is an 'Outstanding School'
It is official – Millais is an Outstanding School!
This was the conclusion reached by the Ofsted team during their recent inspection in which they reviewed many aspects of the school’s work.
Key findings:
· Cheerful confidence and a shared sense of purpose underpin the success of this outstanding school.
· Very high attainment and outstanding achievement are matched by students’ development as thoughtful, confident and enterprising future citizens.
· Great strength in literacy, numeracy and information & communication technology, and the skills they develop through work-related learning and ‘enrichment’ activities, equip students extremely well for life after school.
· Their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is excellent, strongly promoted by the school’s ethos, teaching and curriculum.
Headteacher, Leon Nettley, was delighted with the outcome, saying ‘This judgement recognises the outstanding contribution of governors, staff, pupils and parents to the continuing success of this school. Millais has been one of the highest performing schools in the county for many years and to have the quality of the work we do here recognised in this way is very rewarding. I have always believed that this is an exceptional school and now that view has been officially endorsed. A fantastic team effort!
